Determine the space requirements
Space-Saving Bike Storage: How to Reclaim Space with a Wall-Mounted Lift
You push your bike into the hallway, and immediately the passage narrows to hip width. The BicycleJack is designed exactly for this situation: Your bike hangs vertically on the wall, takes up only a narrow strip of wall space, and no longer gets in anyone’s way.
The most effective way is to hang your bike vertically on the wall. A BicycleJack bike lift holds it securely in the air, leaving the floor clear. The gas spring supports almost the entire weight—making it the perfect solution even for heavy e-bikes.
Wall-Mounted Lifts Beat Floor Stands: Why Going Vertical Is the Smarter Choice
A wall lift makes use of the room’s height instead of its floor space. The gas spring supports the weight; you simply guide the bike upward. For heavy e-bikes, this makes all the difference: A rigid hook requires you to use all your strength every time, but the BicycleJack does most of the work for you. The built-in lift safety mechanism ensures that only what’s supposed to be lifted actually gets lifted.

Wall Space and Ceiling Height: Your Space Requirements at a Glance
Before you can store your bike in a space-saving way, you’ll need two measurements: the available wall width and ceiling height. The following information is based on standard bikes with a handlebar width of 65 cm and a bike length of 180 cm.
01
Space requirements for a uniform arrangement
If you have a wall that’s wide enough, you can mount the BicycleJacks side by side at the same height.
Your values when arranged at the same height
- →Minimumceiling height: 190 cm
- →Widthof the first bike: 70 cm (65 cm + 5 cm buffer)
- →Wall widthfor each additional bicycle: + 70 cm
02
Staggered arrangement: Less wall width, more wheels
If your wall space is more limited, we recommend a staggered arrangement—with each panel offset vertically by 20 cm. The minimum ceiling height increases to about 210 cm.
Your values for a staggered arrangement
- →Minimumceiling height: 210 cm
- →Widthof the first bicycle: 70 cm
- →Eachadditional bicycle: + 35 cm
Compare wall widths directly
| Number of wheels | Even (wall width) | Staggered (wall width) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 bicycle | 70 cm | 70 cm |
| 2 bicycles | 140 cm | 105 cm |
| 3 bicycles | 210 cm | 140 cm |
| 4 bicycles | 280 cm | 175 cm |
| 5 bicycles | 350 cm | 210 cm |

Space-Saving Bike Storage: What You Should Know Beforehand
Since we can’t work magic: If your bike is longer than the ceiling height, you won’t be able to park it in the BicycleJack. Plasterboard walls without a stud frame are also not suitable mounting surfaces—if in doubt, consult a professional beforehand. You can find exact prices and data sheets in the product overview.
